MODEL ARNO XI 87cm
This exceptional model of the Arno XI (equipped with a Ferrari engine), with a length of 91 cm, was made on a scale of 1:7. Replica of the legendary racing boat, this model is made entirely by hand with noble materials: wood (beech), marine upholstery. All fittings are crafted by jewelers in chrome plated brass. 10 coats of lacquer are applied to achieve excellent lacquer gloss.

History of this model:
The Arno XI is a racing boat inspired by Achille Castoldi in the early 1950s and built by the Cantiere Timossi shipyard in Azzano (a hamlet of Mezzegra) on Lake Como. Castoldi wanted to set a world water speed record, so he persuaded then-Ferrari racers Alberto Ascari and Luigi Villoresi to influence Enzo Ferrari into supplying him with a 4.5-litre V12 Ferrari engine; the same engine that gave Ferrari its first Grand Prix victory in the Ferrari 375 F1 at the Silverstone circuit in 1951. The engine was installed in a Timossi three-point racing hydroplane hull.
Castoldi managed to further increase horsepower by adding two superchargers. The result was a 502 hp speedboat, with which he reached a top speed of 150.19 mph (241,708 km/h) on Lake Iseo in October 1953. This is still the world speed record for an 800 kg boat.
